@bobnofa18Broken Trusts: The Weight of Disconnecting from the Divine Order
The covenant with Allah is an oath made to align with His will, but it's more than that—it's a promise of trust. When we vow to follow the path of righteousness and then break that promise, it resonates through the world. The weight of this broken trust extends beyond the self, and the verse speaks of the severing of that which Allah has commanded to be joined. It reminds me of how our bonds with family and community are sacred connections, part of the divine order. When we sever these bonds, when we neglect the ties of kinship, we weaken the fabric of our own souls and our world. The word ‘mischief’ feels deeply personal—it’s not just about external acts of harm, but the internal damage when we turn away from the path of compassion and connection. This is the work of the ‘mischief’ done to the soul. The word 'mischief' is a reminder that we are responsible for our actions and words. May we always be mindful of the weight of our promises and the consequences of their violation. The curse is not simply a punishment, but a separation from the mercy we crave—a consequence of choosing to turn our back on the divine. And yet, it is not a curse we are powerless against. It is a consequence we are capable of avoiding, by knowing our hearts and reaffirming the oath we have made to the Divine. May we always seek the mercy of Allah.
Chapter 13 : Unknown, Verse: 25
And those who violate the covenant of Allah after the ratification thereof, and sunder that which Allah hath commanded to be conjoined, and act corruptly in the earth--these! unto them is a curse, and unto them shall be the evil Abode. (25)
